Peugeot started building bicycles in 1886 and they built a complete range of bicycles from the start. Four ordinaries (one with 2 speed gearing!), twe safeties (very modern at that moment!) and a highwheel safety of the Kangaroo-model.
This ordinary in the Peugeot museum in Sochaux (France) is a bit over restored: originally this cheap model nr 3 (Le Francais) was just polished, not nickled....
I do not know the serial number of this bicycle, but I made a list of other early Peugeot numbers.
